wear a Helmet
Bicycle helmets reduce the risk of head and brain injuries in the event of a crash. All bicyclists, regardless of age, can help protect themselves by wearing properly fitted bicycle helmets every time they ride.
HAND SIGNALS
Proper hand signaling while biking is important because it communicates your intentions to drivers and other cyclists, helping to prevent accidents and ensuring smoother traffic flow.

AVOID THE DOOR ZONE
The Door Zone is the 4-foot area along the side of a parked car where an opening door can hit and seriously injure a cyclist. Avoid biking directly next to park cars to prevent an accident!
SIDEWALK REGULATIONS
Bicycling on sidewalks is allowed throughout some parts of the city of La Crosse; however, it is prohibited in the downtown business district.
